Industry Recognition: A Display of Professionalism on the Provincial Stage

At this year's CCMEC, the TANCO Mine Rescue Team was jointly invited alongside peers from Hudbay Snow Lake and Vale Thompson to share its professional insights in the field of emergency preparedness. The invitation served as a powerful affirmation of the team's exceptional skills, thorough preparation, and relentless efforts to maintain emergency readiness.

The presentation by the TANCO Rescue Team was substantive, covering practical experience from recent training, real-life response cases at the TANCO mine, and the collaborative mechanisms among various departments within the mine to support overall emergency preparedness. Tested in Action: Community Guardians During the Wildfire Crisis

Meanwhile, Loren Schinkel, Reeve of the Lac du Bonnet municipality, publicly commended the rescue team for its heroic efforts during the recent wildfire near the community. Schinkel expressed particular gratitude for the team's rapid response and highly professional competence.

"At a time when the fire situation was changing rapidly and regional emergency resources were stretched thin, the actions of the TANCO Rescue Team effectively protected lives, property, and critical infrastructure," Schinkel stated. "Their state of readiness and technical capabilities play a vital role not only within the mine but also for the entire community during emergencies."

He also extended thanks to TANCO for its decision to deploy professional rescue personnel and equipment to support the community, reflecting the strong collaborative partnership between the company and the local area.

From theoretical sharing on an industry platform to frontline wildfire response, the TANCO Mine Rescue Team has proven its exceptional capabilities and unwavering commitment to safety through concrete actions. It is not only a guardian of mining safety but also a reliable pillar of strength for the community in times of crisis.
