To fully implement work safety responsibilities, precisely prevent and control safety risks, strengthen rainstorm season precautions and pre-Christmas safety management, ensure the smooth achievement of annual safety goals, and lay a solid foundation for next year’s safety work, the Safety Leadership Group of Bikita Mineral Pvt Ltd. organized a special Q4 work safety inspection on November 6, 2025. With the theme of "Precise Investigation, Strict Supervision of Rectification, Closed-Loop Implementation, and Fortifying Defenses", the inspection aimed to eliminate potential safety hazards and ensure the safe and stable operation of projects.
On the inspection day, the company’s Safety Leadership Group held a Q4 work safety meeting, chaired by Martha, Zimbabwean Manager of the Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Department. She comprehensively summarized the work safety performance in Q3, focusing on hidden danger investigation and remediation, employee safety training, emergency management, and the implementation of rectification measures for issues identified last quarter. She also analyzed the current existing risks, hazards, and weak links.
Zheng Neng, Chief Safety Officer, fully affirmed the company’s achievements in safety management during the first three quarters at the meeting. He pointed out that the end of the year is a critical period for work safety, with heavy tasks, high pressure, and elevated risks. He required management and all employees to adopt a more rigorous attitude and higher standards to promote hidden danger investigation and rectification, ensuring no safety incidents occur. Zheng emphasized that this special inspection is not only a routine task but also a systematic assessment of the annual safety management effectiveness. It is necessary to effectively consolidate the foundation of safety management through problem-oriented approaches, responsibility implementation, and closed-loop rectification.
Jiang Rongfu, Deputy General Manager, put forward three work requirements based on the company’s actual safety management situation: first, continuously enhance safety awareness among all employees and strengthen the concept that "work safety is everyone’s responsibility"; second, consolidate the foundation of team safety building and give play to the frontline role of teams in safety management; third, comprehensively advance the construction of the "human prevention, physical prevention, and technological prevention" system to improve the systematicness and effectiveness of safety risk control.
After the meeting, members of the Safety Leadership Group led teams to the frontlines of production, conducting comprehensive inspections in key areas including open-pit mining faces, tailings dams, and concentrators. In strict accordance with Sinomine Group’s safety management standards and relevant industry regulations, the inspections focused on the safe operation of equipment and facilities, the configuration of fire-fighting and emergency equipment, the integrity of safety signs, and the implementation of on-the-job operational specifications. The inspection team adhered to a three-in-one model of "checking accounts, inspecting on-site conditions, and leadership assessment" to ensure full coverage, no blind spots, and no perfunctory practices.
For the problems identified during the inspection, the team implemented a closed-loop management mechanism of "on-site feedback + rectification accounts + follow-up review", clarifying rectification responsible persons, time limits, and review requirements. General issues require completion of rectification and submission of supporting materials within 15 days. The company also strengthened the inter-departmental coordination and linkage mechanism to promote joint cross-departmental rectification, ensuring that hidden dangers are fully addressed and risks are effectively controlled.
Through this systematic investigation and publicity and education, Bikita Mineral has further consolidated the main responsibility for work safety and improved the safety awareness and risk prevention capabilities of all employees. Moving forward, the company will continue to consolidate the achievements of this special inspection, routinely carry out hidden danger investigation and rectification, further promote safety education and training for all employees and emergency drills, and solidly build a strong defense line for work safety, providing solid safety guarantees for the company’s high-quality and sustainable development.
