Recently, Wang Zhiwei, Vice President of Sinomine Resource Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Sinomine Resource”) and General Manager of the South-Central Africa Regional Operations Center, led a delegation in meetings with senior Malawi government officials, including the Minister of Mining, the Minister of Finance, and the Minister of Energy.
During the meetings, Wang Zhiwei introduced Sinomine Resource’s development history, core business segments, and global industrial footprint. As an international mining company that originated in geological exploration and has operated extensively in the South-Central African mining market for many years, Sinomine Resource has accumulated extensive experience in the development and comprehensive utilization of key mineral resources, including lithium, cesium and rubidium, copper, germanium and gallium, and tantalum and niobium. The company has also successfully implemented an integrated “minerals + energy” development model in countries including Zimbabwe and Zambia.

Malawi government officials warmly welcomed the Sinomine Resource delegation. They noted that the Malawi government is actively advancing reforms in the mining sector, continuously improving laws and regulations governing mining investment, and working to create a more transparent, stable, and predictable business environment for foreign investors. The Malawi government expressed strong expectations for companies such as Sinomine Resource, which possess strong technical capabilities and extensive experience in operating projects in Africa, to enter the local mining market.
The officials also expressed the hope that Sinomine Resource would bring its successful experience in developing green and smart mines to Malawi, pursue an integrated “minerals + energy” development approach, and establish a benchmark for sustainable development in local mining. They said the government would provide active support in relevant policy coordination to help translate cooperation between the two sides into tangible results.

The visit represents another important preparatory step in Sinomine Resource’s efforts to expand into emerging African mining markets, following the Group’s successful presence in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia, and other countries in South-Central Africa. Sinomine Resource has consistently upheld the philosophy of “mutually beneficial cooperation and giving back to society” and is committed to becoming a partner welcomed by local governments and communities.
The successful conclusion of the Malawi visit marks a further expansion of Sinomine Resource’s strategic footprint in South-Central Africa, providing fresh momentum for the Group to deepen its resource presence across Africa and enhance its global resource allocation capabilities.
