Recently, Wang Pingwei, Chairman and President of Sinomine Resource Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sinomine Resource"), visited Sinomine Kitumba Minerals Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sinomine Kitumba") in Zambia to conduct an on-site inspection and provide guidance on project construction. He reviewed progress across engineering work, production preparations, and team development, fully acknowledging the project's interim achievements and setting clear expectations for the next phase.
Chairman Wang first inspected the new employee camp, reviewing living conditions and support facilities. He stressed the importance of strengthening logistical support and ensuring that frontline workers have secure, comfortable, and reliable living and working environments.
He then proceeded to the construction site, where he attended the commissioning and plaque-unveiling ceremony of the HZS120 concrete batching plant, built by project partner China Railway No. 9 Engineering Group.
Chairman Wang noted that the smooth launch of the HZS120 facility marks an important milestone in the Kitumba project. The plant not only resolves the bottleneck in concrete supply for large-scale construction, but also "presses the fast-forward button" for ensuring high-quality and high-efficiency progress in upcoming phases.
On behalf of Sinomine Resoure, he expressed sincere appreciation for the dedication of China Railway No. 9 and all participating contractors, and encouraged all parties to continue working hand in hand to build Kitumba project into a model project characterized by safety, quality, and efficiency.
Wang Zhiwei, Assistant to the President of Sinomine Resource and Chairman of Sinomine Kitumba, added that the Kitumba team will work closely with China Railway No. 9 and other partners to overcome challenges and ensure that all project milestones are completed as scheduled.
After the ceremony, Chairman Wang continued his on-site inspection, visiting major work areas including the processing plant under construction, the active mining pit, the Zambian staff living quarters, and the solar power station that supports green energy supply. He fully affirmed the project team's progress, especially given the challenges of operating in a complex overseas environment.
Chairman Wang also made a special visit to the contractors' camp, where he met with frontline builders, reviewed equipment conditions, and assessed safety management and logistical support. He emphasized that safety and employee well-being must always be top priorities for all parties involved.
During the inspection, Chairman Wang chaired a management meeting with Kitumba Mining's leadership team. He listened to detailed reports on overall construction progress, key milestones, and current challenges. Together with the attendees, he reviewed the critical issues affecting project advancement — from resource coordination and engineering scheduling to team collaboration and timeline management — providing clear solutions and actionable guidance.
Chairman Wang reiterated that the Kitumba project is a crucial component of the Group's overseas strategy and carries significant importance. While current achievements are commendable, he cautioned that the challenges ahead remain substantial. He encouraged the entire project team to stay confident, face difficulties head-on, strengthen organizational planning, and enhance refined management to ensure timely delivery of all project targets.
Chairman Wang's on-site guidance greatly boosted morale among all Kitumba project staff. Team members expressed that they will earnestly implement the Chairman's expectations, transform his encouragement into strong motivation, and work with full dedication to achieve early project commissioning.
