From 8 to 10 July 2026 (local time), Bikita Mineral Pvt Ltd (hereinafter referred to as "Bikita Minerals") partnered with the 23rd Chinese Medical Team to Zimbabwe (hereinafter referred to as "the Medical Team") to host a large-scale, free medical clinic at the Bikita mining site. More than a dozen senior medical specialists from leading tertiary hospitals in China provided complimentary care to several hundred local residents — including mine workers, their families and members of surrounding communities.
The three-day clinic offered consultations across ten specialties, including hepatology, endocrinology, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology, and Traditional Chinese Medicine. To overcome language barriers, dedicated service counters were staffed by Mandarin-, Shona- and English-speaking volunteers, ensuring every visitor could be received comfortably and with dignity. Services ranged from routine screening and specialist consultations to health education, acupuncture and other traditional therapies, as well as hands-on training in first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Essential medicines were distributed at no cost.
In a particular effort to reach those most in need, Bikita Minerals and the Medical Team dispatched small outreach groups to provide house calls and care packages for elderly residents and vulnerable households with limited mobility in surrounding communities — bringing the clinic, quite literally, to their doorsteps.
Beyond medical care, the partners organized a friendly basketball match between mine staff and members of the Medical Team, with evening activities including billiards, chess and table tennis. Sport and recreation served as a bridge for cross-cultural exchange, enriching daily life for employees and local residents alike.

"Initiatives like this clinic give that belief concrete form: by standing with our neighbors, supporting their well-being, and continuing to deepen the friendship between China and Zimbabwe through action, not just words."
