Bikita Mineral Pvt Ltd. (“Bikita Minerals”) has successfully completed its donation of supplies for the third term of the 2026 school year under its School Nutrition Program, distributing 14 tonnes of fortified cereal meal to 17 primary schools in the Bikita area and benefiting a total of 11,291 students.
Launched in 2022, the program has expanded steadily over the years. As a valuable complement to the local government’s school feeding initiative, it aims to improve students’ nutritional intake, encourage school attendance, enhance classroom concentration and participation, and advance child welfare and inclusive education.

In addition to supporting the 17 primary schools, Bikita Minerals has extended its nutrition assistance to the Little Bird Children's Home near Silvera Mission, bringing care to vulnerable children beyond the school system.

Tsikirai Mudekunye, Head of Bikita Primary School, noted that enrollment had increased from 971 students in the second term to 990 in the third term. “The reliable supply of nutritious cereal meal has helped us retain students. Knowing that they can receive food at school has significantly improved their willingness to attend classes and provided greater support for their learning,” he said.
Tichona Chumbere, Member of Parliament for Constituency 30, commended the program's continued implementation, noting that the practical support for students also helps ease the financial burden on vulnerable families.

A Bikita Minerals Public Relations Officer said that continuing the program through the final term of the school year provides students with consistent support as they complete their studies. “We are committed to delivering sustained and reliable assistance, working closely with schools and communities to expand the program's reach and enhance its social impact. We believe that community initiatives can make a lasting difference only when they address local needs and contribute to long-term well-being.”
The program represents an important social initiative under Bikita Minerals' ESG framework, focusing on community engagement, child welfare, and educational support. The company believes that sustainable development depends on responsible operations, collaboration with local stakeholders, and continued attention to the needs of communities surrounding its mining operations.
Looking ahead, Bikita Minerals will continue working with schools and community representatives to ensure the effective implementation of its community support initiatives. The company firmly believes that sustained investment in child nutrition and education is essential to strengthening company-community ties and fostering long-term community development.
