On the afternoon of July 23, 2026 (local time), the third preparatory conference of the Chinese New-Energy and Mineral Resources Enterprises Association in Zimbabwe (hereinafter referred to as "the Association") was held at the Harare office of Sinomine Resource Group Co., Ltd.. Mr. Huang Minghai, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe, attended the meeting and delivered an address. Following review and election by member companies, Mr. Gong Xuedong, Assistant President of Sinomine Resource and General Manager of Bikita Mineral Pvt Ltd (hereinafter referred to as "Bikita Minerals"), was unanimously elected Chairman of the third session of the Association.

During the meeting, representatives held in-depth discussions on the third session's organizational structure, work plans, budget review and fund management, membership management systems, and Zimbabwe's mining policies and industry development trends. Broad consensus was reached on strengthening communication and coordination among member enterprises, actively fulfilling corporate social responsibility, and promoting practical China–Zimbabwe cooperation in the mining sector.
In his remarks, Counselor Huang outlined expectations for the new Association leadership and member companies. He noted that the Association should further play its role as a bridge and a bond, strengthen communication and exchange among Chinese-funded enterprises in Zimbabwe, actively promote deeper cooperation between Chinese and Zimbabwean companies in mining, new energy and other fields, and uphold lawful and compliant operations. He urged the Association to actively fulfill its social responsibility and contribute to China–Zimbabwe economic and trade cooperation and to the friendly relations between the two countries.

As one of Zimbabwe's important new-energy and mining enterprises, Bikita Minerals has long been deeply engaged in the local mining sector, playing an active role in advancing lithium resource development, industrial investment, and economic and social development. Mr. Gong's unanimous election as Chairman of the third session of the Association reflects not only broad recognition by member companies of his personal leadership, industry experience and corporate management capabilities, but also strong endorsement of Bikita Minerals' active participation in industry building, its commitment to social responsibility, and its contributions to advancing China–Zimbabwe mining cooperation.
Following his election, Mr. Gong stated that he will faithfully fulfill the duties of Chairman, actively leverage the Association's platform role, and — under the guidance of the Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe — unite and lead all member companies in upholding lawful and compliant operations, further strengthening inter-enterprise communication and collaboration, promptly reflecting common industry concerns, and actively promoting the establishment of smoother and more efficient communication mechanisms between Chinese-funded mining and new-energy enterprises and the Zimbabwean government and relevant departments. He will guide member companies to deepen cooperation in mineral resource development, industrial chain building, value-added processing and localization, advancing mutual benefit and shared development between China and Zimbabwe.
