On the morning of June 11 (local time), Sinomine Kitumba Minerals Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Kitumba Mining”) held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the official opening of its new office building. Wang Pingwei, Chairman and President of Sinomine Resource Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Sinomine”), attended the ceremony and cut the ribbon.
The event was attended by all employees of Kitumba Mining, along with representatives from more than ten project partners, including China No. 15 Metallurgical Construction Group, China Railway No. 9 Engineering Group, and China Nerin Engineering Co., Ltd.
On behalf of Sinomine, Chairman Wang extended his sincere greetings and appreciation to the Chinese and Zambian employees working on the frontline of the project, project partners, and all those in Zambia who have supported the project’s construction and development.
Chairman Wang noted that the opening of the new office building reflects the Group’s commitment to improving the working environment and well-being of frontline employees. He also outlined three priorities for the project.
First, safety and quality must always come first. The project team should maintain strict risk controls and work to develop the Kitumba Project into a high-quality, reliable, and exemplary project within the Group’s overseas operations.
Second, the team should remain focused on its objectives, strengthen execution and coordination, and make every effort to ensure the project is commissioned on schedule.
Third, the Company should continue to strengthen local engagement, deepen China–Zambia friendship and mutual trust, and demonstrate the responsibility and positive image of a Chinese enterprise operating overseas.
Employees of Kitumba Mining expressed their determination to take the opening of the new office building as a new starting point, fully implement the Group’s requirements, and ensure the smooth progress of project construction. They will continue contributing to the high-quality development of Sinomine’s overseas mining business and practical cooperation between China and Zambia.
