Sinomine Resource Group Chairman Wang Pingwei Meets with Zimbabwe’s Minister of Mines

Recently, Wang Pingwei, Chairman and President of Sinomine Resource Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Sinomine”), met with Polite Kambamura, Zimbabwe’s Minister of Mines. The two sides held in-depth discussions on the progress of Sinomine’s projects in Zimbabwe, future development plans, and bilateral cooperation in the mining sector, reaching broad consensus.

The meeting was also attended by Wang Zhiwei, Vice President of Sinomine and General Manager of the Southern and Central Africa Operations Management Center, and Gong Xuedong, Assistant to the President of Sinomine and General Manager of Bikita Mineral Pvt Ltd.

Wang Pingwei said that Sinomine has maintained a long-term presence in Zimbabwe and has always regarded the country as a core part of its global strategy. Guided by the principles of mutually beneficial cooperation and giving back to society, the Company has actively fulfilled its social responsibilities, supported community initiatives, and worked to become a trusted partner welcomed by the local government and communities.

He noted that Zimbabwe has strong natural resource advantages, clear policy direction, and significant development potential. Sinomine is willing to continue working closely with the Zimbabwean government, further expand its investment, deepen cooperation across the industrial value chain, and jointly develop Zimbabwe into an important growth hub for the global green lithium industry.

Minister Kambamura warmly welcomed Wang Pingwei and his delegation and spoke highly of Sinomine’s compliant operations and positive contributions to Zimbabwe’s mining sector. He noted that the Company has created substantial local employment, supported community development, and promoted cooperation across related industries.

He said that the Zimbabwean government is willing to further deepen practical cooperation with Sinomine, provide continued policy support, and jointly advance the sustainable and high-quality development of the mining industry.

The meeting further strengthened mutual trust and created a favorable policy environment for Sinomine’s long-term development in Zimbabwe. Building on the discussions, Sinomine will continue to deepen cooperation with the Zimbabwean government and relevant partner institutions, steadily advance its projects, and make a greater contribution to China–Zimbabwe friendship and economic development.
