3

On the afternoon of April 15, 2026, the Kitumba Copper Project in Zambia, developed by Sinomine Resource Group Co., Ltd., convened a key project advancement meeting and officially released the 2026 Key Project Implementation and Assessment Plan. The meeting aimed to align priorities, clarify targets, and reinforce accountability, mobilizing all teams to move forward with a strong sense of urgency and execution to ensure steady project progress and support high-quality development.

Management of Sinomine Kitumba Minerals Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Kitumba Mining”), members of the project command team, supervisors, contractors, and technical staff attended the meeting.

A dedicated evaluation committee was established, comprising company leadership, management, engineering specialists, and the chief supervision engineer. The committee will oversee project progress, quality control, and safety compliance through a “daily tracking, weekly coordination, and monthly assessment” mechanism. A three-tier warning system (red, yellow, green) has been introduced for key milestones, along with clear targets and incentive/penalty measures to ensure disciplined and high-quality execution.

At the meeting, representatives of each contractor formally accepted their responsibilities and signed commitment agreements in the presence of all participants. Project contractors pledged to allocate optimal resources, strictly adhere to safety standards, and ensure timely and high-quality delivery.

The meeting also outlined detailed rules for incentives and penalties, quality control, and a strict “safety veto” principle, while defining a three-stage roadmap:

  1. Pre-commissioning phase – Complete equipment commissioning and personnel training in advance, establish issue logs, and ensure timely resolution to prepare for formal operations.

  2. Integrated system testing phase – Achieve full-process linkage across smelting operations, including roasting, acid production, solvent extraction, and electrowinning, with safety systems and procedures fully in place.

  3. Load testing phase – Conduct full-system load testing under strict operational standards to verify   equipment stability and process compatibility.

The meeting emphasized that Zambia has entered the dry season, a critical window for construction. All teams were required to optimize resource allocation and adopt a continuous operation model, ensuring uninterrupted progress. Each contractor was instructed to hold internal mobilization meetings within 48 hours, break down targets, and assign responsibilities at all levels.

Wang Zhiwei, Assistant to the President of Sinomine Resource and Chairman of Kitumba Mining, noted that the project addresses both immediate safety challenges and long-term priorities such as resource continuity and intelligent upgrades. He emphasized that the project is critical not only to the Group’s annual targets but also to advancing China–Zambia economic cooperation.

Mao Fulong, Assistant to the President and General Manager of Kitumba Mining, stressed that all project leaders and participants must fully recognize the urgency and strategic importance of the project, take strong ownership, and ensure every task is executed with precision. He added that the goal is to build the Kitumba Copper Project into a benchmark for green and intelligent mining in Africa.

With the successful conclusion of the meeting, the Kitumba Copper Project has entered a new phase of accelerated execution. From post-rainy season construction challenges to the vision of a modern intelligent mine, Sinomine is advancing with determination toward its 2027 copper production target.
