Following Zimbabwe’s export restrictions on lithium ore and concentrates, the global lithium supply chain has been directly impacted. The policy has also created potential supply disruptions for Japan’s Banko ware industry, which relies heavily on technical-grade petalite from Zimbabwe as a key raw material.
To address these challenges, on April 9, 2026, a delegation of Japanese customers—including Nichito, Tomatec, Ginpo, Asaoka, and Maiko—visited Sinomine Resource Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Sinomine”) to discuss raw material supply cooperation. Representatives from the Company’s International Trade Department warmly received the delegation, and both sides held in-depth discussions on the current supply-demand situation and potential solutions.

During the meeting, the Japanese delegation outlined their inventory levels, production requirements, and the supply challenges they are currently facing, expressing hope for support from Sinomine. The Company listened carefully to customer needs, fully recognizing the operational pressures faced by the Banko ware industry, and provided a comprehensive overview of its global lithium resource portfolio, supply chain resilience, and response measures to market fluctuations. This demonstrated Sinomine’s capability and commitment to ensuring stable supply for its partners.

Following thorough discussions, both sides reached a consensus: once Zimbabwe’s export restrictions are lifted, Sinomine will prioritize supply to its long-term partners, establish stable supply channels, and support the continuity of their production operations. The meeting further strengthened the strategic partnership between the two sides and highlighted Sinomine’s ability to respond effectively to global supply chain disruptions, as well as its customer-focused approach.
As a responsible global enterprise, Sinomine will continue to uphold the principle of mutual benefit and shared success, working closely with partners worldwide to overcome challenges, ensure stable raw material supply, and promote sustainable cross-border industrial cooperation for long-term, win-win development.
