On the afternoon of April 9, The Nonferrous Metals Society of China (hereinafter referred to as the “Society”), led by Duan Debing, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General, visited Sinomine Resource Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Sinomine”) for a research visit and guidance. Wang Pingwei, Chairman and President of Sinomine, received the delegation together with the management team and held a discussion meeting.
After hearing a presentation on the Company’s operations, Duan Debing spoke highly of Sinomine’s rapid development in recent years. He noted that the Society attaches great importance to Zimbabwe’s recent policy restricting lithium ore exports and has actively responded, working to facilitate a reopening of export channels. He emphasized that Chinese enterprises operating in Zimbabwe should act in coordination and respond collectively, rather than addressing challenges individually. Regarding tailings management, he stressed the need to strictly follow operational standards, strengthen safety and environmental protection, and eliminate potential risks.

Looking ahead, Duan Debing put forward three key recommendations:
Ensure compliance of projects in lithium, copper, and other sectors, and make full use of supportive national policies.
Focus on critical minor metals to strengthen competitive positioning in the industry.
Expand domestic market development in areas such as cesium and rubidium to enhance self-reliance and control.

Chairman Wang Pingwei expressed appreciation for the Society’s guidance and support. He noted that the Company will continue to uphold its principle of compliant and high-standard operations, further improve management systems, ensure lawful and compliant business practices, and actively fulfill its social responsibilities while maintaining strict environmental standards.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to further strengthen communication and cooperation, jointly promote industry system development, and support the healthy and sustainable growth of the nonferrous metals sector.
