Recently, Sinomine Kitumba Minerals Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sinomine Kitumba") officially introduced a full-process digital and intelligent management solution, marking a new phase of “smart mine development” for the Kitumba Copper Project. This milestone lays a solid foundation for building the project into a world-class intelligent mining benchmark under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The Kitumba Copper Project is a core overseas copper resource development initiative of Sinomine Resource Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Sinomine Resource”) . With a total investment of nearly USD 600 million, the project is designed to produce approximately 50,000 tonnes of copper metal annually, with an average copper grade of 2.2%, higher than the global average for most copper mines.

The newly implemented integrated digital solution consists of five key subsystems:
1. Instrumentation and Control System
Enables real-time collection and precise adjustment of production process parameters to ensure stable operational performance.
2. Integrated Communications System
Establishes a high-speed, stable digital network across the mining area to ensure seamless data connectivity and transmission.
3. Intelligent Lubrication System
Automates and optimizes equipment lubrication, reducing mechanical wear and lowering maintenance costs.
4. Equipment Lifecycle Management System
Provides full digital tracking of equipment operation throughout its lifecycle, improving utilization efficiency and operational reliability.
5. Tailings Storage Facility Online Monitoring System
Conducts 24-hour monitoring of critical safety indicators—including displacement, phreatic line levels, and rainfall—to strengthen risk prevention and ensure operational safety.
The comprehensive deployment of this digital system will break down traditional information silos between production processes, enabling deeper integration of production flow, data flow, and management flow. This transformation will significantly enhance operational efficiency, strengthen safety management, and represent a key step in Sinomine Resource‘s transition toward technology-driven overseas project development.
Going forward, the Kitumba project team will work closely with partners to ensure that the intelligent systems are implemented in parallel with engineering construction. The goal is to build the Kitumba Copper Project into a model smart mine characterized by safety, sustainability, and high efficiency, setting a new benchmark for modern mining development.
