On October 15, 2026, Malawi's Minister of Mining, Thokozani Tembo, led a delegation on a visit to Sinomine Kitumba Minerals Co., Ltd. (“Kitumba Minerals”) to learn about the mine’s development, operational progress, key achievements, and future plans.
Mao Fulong, Assistant to the President of Sinomine Resource Group Co., Ltd. and General Manager of Kitumba Minerals, briefed the delegation on construction progress, reviewed the project's development and major milestones, highlighted the company's achievements in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) management, and outlined its development strategy, goals, and vision.
Minister Tembo thanked Kitumba Minerals for its warm reception and commended the project's rapid development, green mining philosophy, and contributions to local communities. He emphasized the importance of on-site visits, experience sharing, and gaining deeper insights into industry developments for mining stakeholders.
Following the briefing, Minister Tembo and his delegation toured key facilities, including the integrated office building, processing plant, solar power plant area, mining site, and smelter. They gained first-hand insight into site operations and held in-depth discussions with the mine's management team.
