From an undeveloped site to a modern concentrator rising from the ground, and from the installation of the first piece of equipment to the successful integration of the entire process flow, Sinomine employees have harnessed their dedication, expertise and ingenuity to deliver another example of “Sinomine speed” in Zambia. The commissioning of the Kitumba Minerals concentrator marks the project’s official transition into a new phase of production and operations. It is also a landmark achievement for Sinomine Resource Group Co., Ltd. Wang Pingwei then delivered remarks on behalf of the Group, expressing his sincere gratitude and highest respect to all contractors and cooperation partners that had supported the project, as well as to the construction workers and technical commissioning personnel who had worked tirelessly on the front line.
He noted that the Kitumba Copper Mine is Sinomine Resource’s first flagship project in Zambia to be independently developed and operated from the ground up. The completion and commissioning of the concentrator marks the project’s transition from construction to production and operations, as well as a solid step forward in the company’s efforts to develop mineral resources, extend its industrial value chain, and enhance its ability to convert resource endowments into value.
He emphasized that the significance of resource development lies not only in building projects and producing commodities, but also in translating resource advantages into industrial strengths, development opportunities, and tangible improvements in people’s livelihoods. Once operational, the concentrator will further improve resource utilization efficiency and strengthen industrial synergies, bringing more employment opportunities, skills training, and broader economic benefits to local communities. He encouraged the project team to prioritize safe and stable operations, remain committed to green and responsible development, and continue deepening localization efforts. The successful completion and commissioning of the concentrator reflects the collective dedication of the entire team, which worked in unity to overcome challenges and maintain round-the-clock efforts. Wang called on all employees to embrace the new starting point and their renewed responsibilities, uphold a rigorous and pragmatic work ethic, maintain the highest standards of production safety, and steadily advance capacity ramp-up, process optimization, and equipment operation and maintenance to ensure stable, integrated performance across the entire production process.

Following the speeches, the ceremony reached its highlight with the ribbon-cutting. In the presence of all guests and employees, twelve specially invited guests jointly took up the scissors. To the beat of rousing music, the golden scissors came down in unison and the ribbons fluttered.
