From September 11 to 15, local time, Wang Pingwei, Chairman and President of Sinomine Resource Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Sinomine Resource”), and Director Ou Xuegang visited Sinomine Tsumeb Mining Holding (Proprietary) Limited (hereinafter referred to as the “Tsumeb Smelter”) in Namibia to inspect its operations and development. The delegation gained an in-depth understanding of the smelter’s production and business operations, project construction, and team management, provided on-site guidance on key projects and production activities, and held discussions with Chinese and international management and employees to clarify priorities and strategic directions for the next stage of development.

During the visit, Chairman Wang Pingwei and his delegation conducted on-site inspections of the Tsumeb Smelter’s production facilities and project construction areas. Particular attention was given to trial production of the rotary kiln under Phase I of the Tsumeb Smelter’s Polymetallic Recovery Project in Namibia, as well as progress on the construction of Phase II.
Wang spoke highly of the team’s recent progress in germanium recovery during rotary kiln trial production. He noted that these initial achievements had been hard-won and reflected the Tsumeb Smelter team’s determination to overcome technical challenges and work collaboratively. For the next stage, he called for further improvements in production organization and technical management, stabilization of current operating indicators, continuous optimization of production processes, and increased recovery of key metals. He also urged the team to translate its technological advantages into tangible results and strive to generate economic returns in the fourth quarter of this year.

Chairman Wang received a detailed briefing on the current status of project construction and provided guidance on project execution, safety management, production organization, and subsequent implementation. He emphasized the need to remain firmly focused on project objectives, strengthen overall coordination, and strictly implement all management requirements. Construction should proceed in an orderly manner while ensuring safety and quality, laying a solid foundation for stable future production and improved business performance.

During a meeting with Chinese management and employees, Chairman Wang listened carefully to reports on recent progress across business functions and the company’s production and operating performance, offering guidance based on the situation on the ground. He stressed that all teams should remain focused on three key objectives: stabilizing operating indicators, increasing output, and improving profitability. The smelter should continue to enhance its production and operational management capabilities and accelerate its transition toward stable production, full-capacity output, and improved efficiency, with the aim of generating sound economic returns as soon as possible.
Wang also met with members of the international senior management team to gain a deeper understanding of local teams’ work in production management, project implementation, and day-to-day operations. Discussions also covered the Group’s plans for further investment and development in Namibia, job creation, stronger collaboration between Chinese and international teams, and improved community relations.

Chairman Wang noted that the development of the Tsumeb Smelter depends on the joint efforts of Chinese and international employees. He called on all team members to leverage their respective strengths, strengthen communication and collaboration, build a stronger shared understanding, and improve execution efficiency, thereby creating favorable conditions for project delivery and the company’s long-term, stable development.
On September 14, local time, Chairman Wang Pingwei and his delegation visited Zhao Weiping, Chinese Ambassador to Namibia, in Windhoek. Wang briefed the ambassador on rotary kiln operations at the Tsumeb Smelter, progress on new project construction, and the company’s business development and future plans in Namibia.

Ambassador Zhao recognized the progress made by Sinomine Resource in Namibia and expressed the hope that the company would continue advancing project construction and production operations in a steady and orderly manner, contributing to deeper economic and trade cooperation between China and Namibia.
The inspection further clarified the key priorities for the Tsumeb Smelter’s production, operations, and project construction in the next stage. Taking this visit as an opportunity, the Tsumeb Smelter will strengthen its confidence in future development, continue improving production and operational management, stabilize and enhance key metal recovery performance, and accelerate the construction of major projects. By translating technological achievements into practical production capacity and economic returns, the smelter aims to inject fresh momentum into Sinomine Resource’s high-quality development.
