Vice President Chiwenga spoke highly of Sinomine Resource’s long-term commitment to developing its operations in Zimbabwe. Previously, Chiwenga had made a special visit to Bikita Mine, a Sinomine Resource subsidiary, to conduct an on-site inspection. He praised the company’s achievements in applying advanced mining technologies, creating local employment opportunities, increasing government revenue, and advancing industrialization in Masvingo Province.
Chiwenga noted that his visit to China was intended to examine and discuss industrialization, the localization of manufacturing, and the extension of industrial value chains. He described Sinomine Resource as a leading industry example that has responded proactively to the Zimbabwean government’s call. He also welcomed and commended the progress made at Bikita Mine in recovering multiple metals, including the extraction of tantalum and niobium from tailings, improvements in cesium beneficiation and tailings recovery processes, and efforts to maximize resource utilization.
Vice President Chiwenga also received an update on the progress of Sinomine Resource’s new lithium sulfate plant in Zimbabwe, which is designed to produce 100,000 tonnes annually. He expressed his appreciation for the progress of the project and warmly welcomed the plant’s construction and investment. He also thanked Sinomine Resource for taking the lead in promoting downstream value-chain development, value addition, and industrialization in Masvingo Province.
Chiwenga encouraged Sinomine Resource to continue increasing investment across the entire industrial value chain in Zimbabwe and to serve as a model for the industry. He stated that the Zimbabwean government would provide corresponding policy support to help make bilateral cooperation a model of mutual benefit.
The meeting further strengthened mutual trust and the foundation for cooperation between Sinomine Resource and the Zimbabwean government. Sinomine Resource remains committed to a development philosophy that places resources at its foundation, technology at its core, and environmental sustainability as a fundamental principle. The company seeks to integrate its vertically coordinated development model with the industrialization strategies of its host countries.
Looking ahead, Sinomine Resource will continue to uphold the principles of openness and mutually beneficial cooperation, deepen its global presence in key mineral sectors such as lithium, cesium, and rubidium, and drive its industrial and value chains toward higher-value segments. Through these efforts, the company aims to make further contributions to industrialization and sustainable development in Zimbabwe and across Africa.
